I don’t know what took me so long to try this because it’s actually ADDICTING and so yummy + it’s gluten free and packed with fiber from the dates! My favorite candy is Reese’s peanut butter cups so I decided to go for a chocolate PB vibe but this can honestly be recreated with so many other flavor combos!
I love making desserts with dates because they’re texture becomes similar to caramel … which is honestly delightful.

4 Ingredient Chocolate PB Date Bark
(full recipe and grocery list below)
Ingredients:
9oz container of pitted dates (make sure they are pitted!)
creamy peanut butter (I recommend opting for a clean one where the only ingredient is dry roasted peanuts)
2 bars of chocolate (I actually mixed a few open dark and milk chocolate bars I had, and some had almonds/hazelnuts mixed in)
flaky sea salt
Instructions:
Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Open each date, and place on the tray with the skin side against the tray and the inside part up.
Add another layer of parchment paper (or plastic food wrap) on top and either use your hands or a cup to flatten the dates down.
Using a spoon, add a layer of creamy peanut butter (~5-6 large spoonfulls). Make sure the dates are fully covered.
Using 6oz of chocolate (about 2 3oz. bars), break into squares and add to a ramekin with 1-2 tbsp coconut oil. Microwave in 1-2 min intervals until melted.
Add melted chocolate on top of the peanut butter layer and top some flaky sea salt.
Pop in the freezer for a bit (I left mine in for a couple of hours).
Take out of the freezer, add the parchment paper with the date bark to a cutting board and cut into square pieces.
Enjoy!
You can keep this stored in the freezer so enjoy it throughout the week!
