5 Ingredient Gratin Potatoes
My favorite side dish EVER, since I was a little kid – bonus points because it is so simple and easy to make.
Gluten Free. Includes Dairy. Minimal Ingredients.
Growing up, this was my favorite dish ever… for years, I’ve asked my mom to make it on my birthday (and I still do hehe). In portuguese, we call it “batata gratinada (I’m Brazilian for those of you who might not know), and it’s sooo delicious and perfectly cheesy. It’s amazing paired with any meat dish and veggie and also is so easy to make. Let this be your sign to try it out!

(full recipe and grocery list below)
Ingredients:
6-7 medium russet potatoes
8oz can of table cream
2lb shredded mozzarella cheese
parmesan cheese
salt
Instructions:
Bring a large pot of water with russet potatoes to a boil. Boil for 20-30 minutes, until potatoes are tender and soft when poked with a fork.
Remove potatoes from boiling water and set them aside to cool.
Preheat oven to 350F.
Once cooled, peel off potato skin and cut potatoes into thin round pieces.
Into a baking dish, add a layer of potato rounds and add some salt.
Top with a nice even layer of table cream and shredded mozzarella cheese.
Repeat 3x.
To the final layer, finish off with parmesan cheese.
Add to the oven for ~45 minutes, until the top layer and sides start to get golden brown and a little crispy.
This is seriously my all time favorite side dish. If you recreate it, please share your creations in our groupchat :)
