Let’s dive right in…

March’s Biggest Takeaway: There’s magic in going with the flow.

This past month really highlighted to me how a lot of the stress I feel is caused by trying to over-control things, situations, group activities, etc. – and it also showed me a new path, a new way, to live life more gracefully and find more peace in my relationships.

Something I noticed (again) about myself is that I often fall into a pretty big comfort zone when it comes to my routines and rituals – and don’t get me wrong, I love my little self care habits. HOWEVER, being a little too rigid with my schedule and a bit too obsessed with being productive, getting everything done, and holding it together for everyone got in my way – because it prevented me from fully enjoying inherently GOOD things, like having family in town and traveling (helloooooo perfectionism!). It also caused me to feel way more on edge and reactive overall – which doesn’t make me feel like my best self.

I often feel like I’m going at a million miles an hour, and I am incredibly independent and high achieving, which means I can get a lot done, fast. However, when having visitors, traveling, or planning group activities, there are many more moving pieces that need to be considered, and if my #1 focus was speed and productivity, problems were resulting. I had to remind myself that the truth of the matter is: while I can go faster by myself, I can definitely go further with others.

So, I decided to shift my approach and let go of all the pressure, all the stress. I decided to go a little bit more with the flow.

I slowed down my pace.

I made peace with the fact that other people might not go as fast as I do, but if I go a little slower, I can actually enjoy the time we’re sharing wayyy more.

I realized that by releasing some of the pressure I was putting on myself, on my routines, on timing for things … I was way more regulated, and as a result, I was also calmer, more open and more friendly. I also shifted to drinking decaf coffee and matcha and have been shocked at how much this has helped me.

This all was a big reminder that I was falling a little too much to my masculine energy and needed to re-connect with my divine feminine energy.

We all have masculine and feminine energy – which we could also call firm/yang or fluid/yin energy. Feminine energy is fluid, intuitive, and creative.
